Every person deserves more than a place to live — they deserve a place to belong. Here's the story of how RAE's Home came to be, and what makes it different.
Our Story
RAE's Home was founded together by Cristine and Terrance Carbury — a husband-and-wife team who built this home out of both clinical experience and lived experience. Cristine brings over 20 years as a healthcare professional in medical and residential care. Terrance has always believed deeply in connecting people to their community and supporting one another, and it was that same belief that carried him through years of supporting Cristine as she cared for family members facing serious health challenges — including strokes, developmental disabilities, and a beloved nephew born with a brain injury.
That nephew's strength, and the strength of two other beloved family members, is where RAE's Home gets its name. Watching their daily triumphs — the small victories, the perseverance, the joy they found in everyday life — is what convinced Cristine and Terrance that other individuals and families deserved that same level of care, dignity, and community. RAE's Home is the home they wished had existed for their own family, built now for others.
RAE's Home is more than just a group residence — it is a community of belonging, purpose, and personal growth. We are committed to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) through personalized care and skill-building programs that promote independence and joy.
We envision a home where every individual is empowered, respected, and provided the opportunity to live a meaningful life — a place where potential is nurtured, not limited.

Every resident has unique goals, preferences, and strengths. We tailor our services to honor those differences.
Our on-site swimming pool is used for both relaxation and aquatic therapy. Trampoline and mobility exercises promote balance, coordination, and well-being.
We believe in giving back. Our residents participate in volunteering and outings that foster self-esteem and social connection.
